Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Program Coordinator for The National Transit Institute (NTI). The Senior Program Coordinator position reports to the Assistant Director at the National Transit Institute. NTI develops and delivers educational material to transit professionals throughout the US. This position's main role will be to manage various projects within a stringent timeframe to meet NTI's annual work program deliverables. Candidate will be accountable for assigned projects. Duties will include course scheduling, statistical analysis, budgetary responsibility, project-related reports, memoranda and other written materials.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Requires frequent contact with government agency personnel, University personnel and outside vendors.
Represents NTI at various industry meetings, committees, and conferences.
Conceives, develops, implements and manages assigned projects.
Develops action plans for projects.
Manages assigned projects to ensure projects are completed within the budget and reviewing project.
Leads project staff to produce project deliverables by making project-specific assignments, setting priorities, coaching and advising on technical issues and industry applications, and overseeing quality.
Prepares meeting agendas, work plans and other materials as necessary in support of assigned tasks, including interaction with external contacts
Handles all aspects of acquiring estimates, negotiation and ordering of services, and sole source documentation.
Responsible for coordination of project meetings, including staff supervision and coordination of Class 8 employees assigned to projects.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a knowledgeable and professional manner with other project members in attaining the overall goals of the project.
Effective planning, project management, and execution skills.
The ability to travel nationally on occasion and to work some evenings and weekends.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
Candidate must be able to work professionally and knowledgeably within the framework of the overall project schedule.
