Morneau Shepell is a recognized and award-winning leader in the design and delivery of Responsible Gambling services. We have been proudly working with the North Carolina Problem Gambling Program since 2007.
Reporting to the Account Executive, Responsible Gambling, the North Carolina (NC) Problem Gambling Prevention Coordinator is an integral member of the NC Problem Gambling Program and he/she is responsible for managing the state’s Problem Gambling Prevention efforts.
Responsibilities of the NC Problem Gambling Prevention Coordinator include the following:
Accountability and responsibility for managing NC’s Problem Gambling Prevention efforts;
Work with NC middle schools, high schools, colleges and universities to provide training, technical assistance and supervision for Problem Gambling Prevention efforts;
Manage approximately 70 grant awards statewide;
Develop relationships with key stakeholders including government agencies and mental health providers;
Presentations and trainings for mental health service providers, educators, and the general public;
Works closely with operations and other internal groups to ensure service delivery to contract.
Succeeding as the NC Problem Gambling Prevention Coordinator will require the following core qualifications and skills:
Possess Master’s degree in Public Health, Community Health or Behavioral Health or related field;
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and excellent professional facilitation and public speaking skills;
Experience in prevention and/or health education programs strongly preferred;
Ability and willingness to travel throughout North Carolina (role is based in Raleigh with 60% state-wide travel);
