Position Summary: The Development Manager, Grants is responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation, government and corporate sources. This position is responsible for writing proposals and submitting reports on grant funded projects and tracking grant status (approximately 40 annually) as required. This position is also responsible for donor research, event support and special administrative projects as needed.
Public and Private Grant applications and reporting
Manage the organization’s grant calendar including submission and reporting deadlines.
Manage all aspects of the grant application process for public and private grantors.
Write and edits grant proposals , including the assembly of all proposal attachments and supporting materials, correspondences with funder and grant reports
Work with appropriate program and administrative staff to obtain all necessary information on programs for inclusion in grant proposals and funder reports to execute application and reporting processes.
Manage grant files, including electronic and hard copy files, of all applications and correspondence.
Support Director of Development & Communications in donor relationship management of grant funders
Conduct prospect research to identify and solicit new sources of public, corporate and foundation funding and opportunities.
Manage relationships with selected donors
Support Director of Development & Communications and Development Manager, Events as necessary in production of four annual signature fundraising events and others
Support the Executive Director in the completion of special projects when necessary
Must demonstrate superior writing and oral presentation skills
Must possess strong interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills
Ability to manage time effectively with multiple projects in a fast-paced, rapidly expanding, deadline-driven development department Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information effectively and confidentially
Must be able to manage short-term and long term plans and goals.

Hours of Work: Full-time equivalent 37.5 hours
Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Writing or related field
Minimum 2 years’ experience in professional foundation and government grant writing and reporting in the nonprofit sector.
Excellent written communication skills, along with highly effective oral communications and presentation skills; 2+ years professional writing experience preferred
Highly motivated self-starter and entrepreneurial team player with strong personal work ethic, able to excel in a collaborative and results-oriented environment
Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite
This position will require evening and weekend hours as necessary, and the ability to provide own transportation.
