The brand new 2-story facility is located at 7500 Challis Rd. Brighton, MI. As a Pediatric Audiologist with Michigan Medicine, you will perform, interpret and report audiologic and electrophysiologic assessments of pediatric patients in the Pediatric Otolaryngology and Audiology clinic at the Brighton Center for Specialty Care. You will work directly with the child’s multidisciplinary care team and their family to understand the special needs of the patient and determine what treatment is needed. In addition to providing direct patient care, you will also have instructional opportunities involving otolaryngology residents, fellows, audiology graduate students, and medical students. What skills would you master?
You will feel confident in performing hearing aid evaluations, fittings, and follow up care
You will perform audiologic and electrophysiologic assessments of auditory function
You will contribute to the development and implementation of protocols for clinical data collection, perform biologic equipment checks, and utilize educational government resources for patients
You will have potential to participate and contribute to clinical research
You may also have functional oversight of technical staff in the clinic
What are the required qualifications?
Master’s degree in Audiology or an equivalent combination of education
Current licensure as an Audiologist from the State of Michigan or eligible for licensure upon graduation
Certification of Clinical Competence in Audiology, awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
Experience in performing audiological assessments of hearing in children as well as hearing aid evaluation, fitting, and dispensing
What are the preferred qualifications?
Doctorate in Audiology (AuD or PhD) and demonstrated expertise in working with infants and children
Experience in digital audiology data collection, storage and management is helpful
Experience with use of assistive technology is helpful
Physical ability to maneuver and transport wheeled equipment is necessary
