Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health-Fredberg lab's Research Assistant I Non Lab, will assist investigators focused on discovering the PHYSICAL laws that govern the abilities of cells to deform, move and remodel – but applies to cancer and other diseases, and also has applications in drug development.
Under close supervision of the Project Leader in the research group, the Research Assistant I will be: - Maintaining mammalian cells derived from tumor - Conducting preparation of in vitro experiments and assisting data analysis - Conducting routine bench works following established procedures, including cell cultures, gel preparation, imaging and image analysis - Modifying and improving the already existing protocols - Maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies - Other duties as assigned
Duties require not only general understanding of good laboratory practices, but also quality focused mindset and independent critical thinking to solve problems, which are often encountered in the lab.
PLEASE NOTE: This position has a term appointment of one year from date of hire, with the possibility of extension. PLEASE NOTE: This position requires an occupational health screening.
