Financial Control & Operational Risk Management Specialist or Sr. Associate

What you'll do:
Facilitate risk and control workshop sessions with business divisions on process analysis, identification and assessment of risk and controls, including key risk indicators, event collection and other risk management tools;
Ensure our internal control system process is executed in accordance with the COSO Internal Control Framework, including walk-throughs, assessment of control design and operational effectiveness, representation memorandum process, and process flow documentation;
Monitor and support Management's efforts to implement significant corporate initiatives, such as system implementations;
Support the project to configure/update SAP Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) tool ruleset, identify potential segregation of duties violations and test mitigating control effectiveness;
Provide input to periodic risk reports to Senior Management and the Board's Audit Committee including the Bank's operational risk profile, for corporate processes, and the status and results of the assessment of effectiveness of our internal controls over financial reporting;
Serve as a liaison to the Bank's external and internal auditors on internal controls on corporate processes. Maintain effective working relations with the business divisions;
Contribute to the training and development of others, coaching and mentoring junior staff to build technical expertise and leadership skills.
What you'll need:
Education: Master's degree or equivalent in finance, business administration, system engineering, or relevant field.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience (3 years for Senior Associate) preferable with an international financial institution in operational risk management, audit, system implementations, and/or the assessment of internal control systems in credit risk, investment management or banking. Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with PC-based software, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Proficiency in Nasdaq-BWise and SAP GRC are highly desirable.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Spanish is required. Additional knowledge of Portuguese or French is a plus. Experience preparing documents, including the ability to draft well-written analyses and proposals.
