Post-Doctoral Research Associate, Mechanical Aerospace %26 Biomedical Engineering

This post-doctoral research associate position will mostly work on a government-funded research project on the development and characterization of stimuli-responsive biomolecular materials, including those constructed from lipids, proteins, cellular extracts, and synthetic polymers. The candidate will be responsible for designing and conducting materials-focused experiments across multiple length scales, collecting and analyzing data, and communicating these results effectively to the project team, to the funding agency, and to outside researchers and collaborators. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in bioengineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, or related discipline and have an outstanding academic record.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of molecular self-assembly and interfacial physics, biomolecules, stimuli-responsive materials, biomembrane assembly and transport, electrophysiology of membrane proteins, including ion channels, multiphase materials characterization
Excellent literature review and scientific writing skills.
Excellent experimental, data collection, and analytical skills, including numerical programming and data analysis (e.g. in MATLAB, Python, Excel).
Ability to organize research efforts and record research results, supervise graduate and undergraduate students, and assist in laboratory management.
