Supervise Resident Counselors (RCs) and program logistics, including day-to-day operations of unit staffing, program scheduling and related activities for the 24 hour care of patients. Serves as lead for multidisciplinary team on Assessment Unit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrates clinical knowledge and judgement in the areas of diagnosis, treatment planning/intervention, and documentation.
Hires, trains, and supervises all Resident Counselors.
Conducts daily shift reports with RC staff.
Conducts weekly and monthly meeting with RCs as needed.
Coordinates program milieu.
Completes room checks, safety checks and client supervision checks as necessary.
Monitors, assesses and improves compliance with licensure requirements.
Ensures appropriate documenting of patient records.
Performs responsibilities according to clinical and timeliness guidelines, and assimilates and applies performance feedback.
Conducts psycho-educational groups and ensures RCs are conducting groups as scheduled.
Models documentation best practices by documenting all treatment episodes and patient contact.
Participates in the clinical treatment teams.
Coordinates all patient transportation.
Participates in Intake process in absence of Intake Counselor.
Performs regular inspections of patient areas, ancillary and common areas for sanitization, order, safety and comfortable environment in conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
Serves on assigned committees (i.e., safety) of the facility and provides written and/or verbal reports of residential counseling services and activities as required or directed.
Plans and conducts patient orientations, meetings and outings.

Understands need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, residents, families, visitors, referral sources and all other contacts.
