The Media Technician Supervisor oversees the operation, maintenance and scheduling of media equipment, materials and facilities. Coordinates the production of meetings, workshops, conferences, and/or special events. This position also supervises student staff.
Event Production - Transport and deliver equipment to other buildings on campus and to the Ellensburg community; set up security; address public safety and issues; oversee on-site coordination and delegation of staff and volunteers for shows of up to 10,000 people; and tear down event - Setup, operate, and supply technical support of audio/visual equipment, lighting trees/equipment, portable/non-portable sound systems, laser/lamp projectors, DVD/Blu-Ray players, amplifiers, mixers, microphones, staging, projection screens, computer equipment an programs for media application, and rigging equipment. - Track and account for event budgets. - Negotiate contract for services and time lines per event. - Utilize 25Live scheduling software, process paperwork for charge/credit's and other contract billings. - Subcontract the use of equipment rentals. - Remain current with laws and regulations pertaining to events, from state laws, OSHA regulations, fire codes, and the University policies. - Serve on committees pertaining to large events on campus such as homecoming, commencement, and family weekend. - Provide customer service, technical advice, and event production schedules to assist faculty, staff, students and off-campus groups and provide general information about the campus and community, etc. - Assist in the development of procedures and policies to govern use and fees relating to these services - Assist with general room setups and related tasks. - Provide technical assistance with staff on a closed cloud-based broadcast system. - Provide general support for Student Union & Recreation Center customers including Operations, Information Center. - Anticipate unforeseen problems and provide solutions.
Supervision of Student Staff - Actively engages in recruitment and hiring new employees. - Clearly defines performance expectations, ensure accountability, and provides ongoing informal feedback, coaching, and mentoring. Inventory/Repair - Repair and troubleshoot equipment from sound gear and lighting to laptops and other technical devices. - Research and advice purchasing new products and replacement parts. - Coordinate purchases between departments to get better bulk purchase rates. - Use a man lift to change, adjust, or clean flown or installed lighting and sound equipment. - Maintain inventory database in 25Live on regular basis.

Experience with running live sound and other event production including but not limited to: lighting, video, planning, and rigging.
Experience and/or training that demonstrates the ability to work effectively with internal and external clients and customers to identify their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems and/or satisfy their expectations by providing quality services.
Valid Washington State Driver's License.
Experience using Microsoft suite package (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, Visio, and/or similar software applications to prepare correspondence, process billing, technically assist customers, etc.
Experience setting up and using soft-codec communication platforms (Skype, Go to Meeting, etc...).
Must be able to lift 50lbs with reasonable accommodations.
Degree in Theatre Production, Event Management, Music Production, or similar fields.
Experience supervising students in a collegiate setting.
Experience with 25Live scheduling software and database management.
Experience operating a one man powered lift.
Experience with ETC EOS consoles or software.
Experience with QLab show control software
Experience with network infrastructure and management.
Experience with Dante audio networking

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
Salary: $2984/month with periodic increases up to $3883/month
Working Conditions: Office and indoor/outdoor work is required. Work is performed with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to meet the physical demands of remaining at a desk/computer workstation for prolonged periods, using repetitive arm, hand and finger movements. Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying or moving of objects and other movements is required. Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel will be required.
