The Center Administrator will provide a broad range of administrative support for Harvard's Center for Global Cancer Prevention and Early Detection, an interdepartmental, interdisciplinary Center focused on developing and implementing novel approaches to cancer prevention and early detection. The Center will engage a variety of stakeholders, including academic researchers, industry, government, and others from fundamental science, technology and engineering, oncology, public health, implementation science, and community outreach.
The Center Administrator is responsible for the overall administrative logistics and detailed management of the Center, under the direction of the Executive Director and working closely with faculty, research scientists, contacts at other collaborating institutions, and other university administrators. S/he will serve as the primary administrative contact for the Center and will assist in the development and implementation of programmatic activities for the Center. These activities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide strategic administrative management and leadership support to the Center Director - Anticipate and respond to needs on programmatic and operations activities - Liaise with collaborative groups globally - Make independent decisions and triage routine requests from individuals or groups on materials from the Center, information about the Center, and/or seeking collaborations and advice from the Center - Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Center, including coordinating Center-supported programs under the intellectual supervision of the Center Director - Establish systems and develop standard operating procedures for the orderly functioning and programmatic development of Center projects - Autonomously, as well as with advice from the Center Director, provide management and oversight for developing seminar series, workshops, guest lectures, and other related events - Assist with the hiring, supervision, and training of relevant staff as needed - Support the Center Director in the administration of program funds, including processing reimbursements, ensuring alignment in Center-related expenditures, etc. - Oversee and manage web content for the Center - Attend program meetings and relevant investigator and staff meetings - Provide support for developing materials for dissemination to partner organizations

- Bachelor's Degree required. - 3+ years of related experience required.
Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in public health, epidemiology, or related disciplines are strongly preferred.
Proven experience in strategizing, thinking operationally, organizing, and implementing research-based programs; a strong foundation in research methodology and budget management; proven track record in working successfully in a diverse range of ethnic, cultural, and economic communities; proven listening, communication, writing, presentation, and problem-solving skills preferred.
Excellent communication skills with all levels of internal and external stakeholders; strong and demonstrated organizational skills; experience working independently with minimal supervision and adapting to increased responsibility as needed; commitment to the goals of the Center preferred.
