Orlando, Florida â?? Transportation Planning and Public Outreach related intern
Our Transportation Planning / Public Outreach Intern will have the opportunity to work with top notch engineers and planners on exciting and engaging transportation planning and design projects. The projects include National Environmental Policy Act evaluations to meet Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) requirements for highway/ roadway, and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requirements for transit/ rail. Work will include engaging stakeholders for design and planning efforts through public meetings, newsletters, and community interest meetings and writing portions of state and federal planning documents.
- You should be a self-motivated professional, enrolled in a bachelors program with an emphasis on transportation planning, public affairs, public administration, communications, or similar program. - Have a 3.0 or above GPA, and interested in transportation planning and federal processes. - You should have excellent oral and written communication skills, self-motivation, and team-oriented work practices. - Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point. - Excellent oral and written communication, decision-making, problem resolution, and a sense of initiative are important for this position. - Effective organizational skills, multitasking ability, and excellent computer skills will contribute to your success. - Experience working with federal government agencies a plus.
