Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Support Coordinator for the Nursing department at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Provides satellite library and patient outreach services for department of Patient Education.
Provides education for patients, families, and the community about the variety of media that may be utilized for health information.
Instructs patients, family, staff, community about navigation of the Internet, searching online evidence-based health information, and how to access its authority.
Locates, evaluates and selects cancer-related information for patients, family and the general public.
Answers information request and reference questions using guidelines from various recognized medical associations and government agencies, such as the Medical Library Association and the National Institute of Health.
Home Location Campus: Downtown New Brunswick
Master's degree in library science is preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Possesses own vehicle or alternative means of transportation from one site to another.
