The Vice President-Senior Analyst will be a senior representative for our Project and Infrastructure franchise in Brazil. The successful candidate will join a highly competitive team and will assume responsibility over a portfolio of high profile companies in the energy, transportation and water sectors as well as specific project financing structures in those areas.
This is a very visible and sensitive market facing role; the Vice President-Senior Analyst will regularly interact with external parties, including multilateral organizations, development and private banks, investment funds and capital market groups, governments and regulatory agencies, research departments, insurance companies, the press, industry trade groups, academia, project sponsors (i.e. construction companies), among others. As such, he or she will need the gravitas, credibility, and communication ability to act as a senior ambassador of the firm.
Oversee strategic relationships with an array of financial market participants, including infrastructure debt issuers, financial advisors, underwriters, and investors.
Manage, conduct and maintain initial and on-going credit analysis on a complex and high profile portfolio of companies.
Conduct quantitative assessment of financial statements, financial forecasts, and economic/market data, as well as analysis of financing documents including official statements, bond indentures, liquidity agreements, swap agreements and other documents.
Lead issuer meetings, including presenting key rating factors effectively and asking probing questions that result in substantive dialog about key rating issues.
Present credits effectively and comprehensively in rating committees and other internal analytical meetings to assign and maintain credit ratings.
Produce insightful and timely research on specific issuers, sectorial credit trends or sector related issues.
Plan and lead outreach initiatives to engage with key market participants through outreach conferences, intermediary briefings, one-on-one investor meetings and interviews with the press.
Help ensure that the team complies with credit and compliance/regulatory policy issues as directed by Senior Management and/or the Compliance department.
Coach and develop junior analysts and support associates with editorial guidance.
Moody's Project and Infrastructure Finance Group has an immediate opening for a Vice President-Senior Credit Officer in our Sao Paulo Office. The individual will be responsible for the ongoing credit assessment of a portfolio of high profile corporate enterprises that issue debt for public infrastructure purposes including electric, gas and water distribution utilities, independent power producers, as well as natural gas pipeline operators.
Project and Infrastructure related ratings are used by the Company's clients to help assess credit risk in this market. Project and Infrastructure related research also includes key statistical data and peer group analysis. The group's approach allows market participants to benefit from a globally consistent and transparent methodological approach to assessing credit risk. The successful candidate will play a leadership role, representing our franchise in Brazil and effectively being the senior voice of a highly competitive team.
Very strong written and oral communication capabilities in English and Portuguese.
Solid interpersonal skills including proven managerial experience.
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines while also complying with internal procedures and best practices as well as existing regulations.
Ability to build strong professional relationship at all levels and to represent the Moody's brand effectively.
Strong abilities in Excel, Word and PowerPoint as well as a hands-on approach are necessary.
