The Floating Senior Teller/Member Services Representative (MSR) is responsible for performing transactions for and providing excellent service to Credit Union members.
Additionally, the Floating Teller/MSR:
Is knowledgeable about Harvard University Employee Credit Union (HUECU) deposit and loans products, to promote sales and develop relationships with new or existing members.
Has strong analytical skills ensuring a high level of accuracy.
Is responsible for daily balancing of teller work.
Adheres to organization's privacy policies and displays a high level of integrity, maturity, and discretion regarding member personal financial information.
Is required to float between all branch locations as necessary, which occasionally will be without prior notice.
Will be required to work additional hours based on business coverage needs.
Occasional late Thursday and Saturday morning hours will be required for the Harvard Square Branch and early Thursday mornings at the MGH Branch.
Maintains an active Notary Public status.
Essential Job Functions:
Uses computer system to process deposits, cash and check withdrawals, loan payments, loan disbursements, and account inquiries. Controls and disburses teller cash ensuring that drawer cash limits are maintained.
Provides coverage for Member Services area as necessary. Has ability to open and process all types of deposit accounts, accepts and processes consumer loan applications, and performs other Member Service duties as required.
Accepts, reviews and processes consumer loan applications. Underwrites loans and makes loan recommendations, prepares loan documents and closes loans.
Provides information and responds to inquires in person, over the telephone and in writing. Researches and resolves member inquires involving deposit and loan products and services.
Stays up-to-date with and ensures that teller operations and governing regulations are in compliance. Also to be familiar with and aware of security and robbery procedures.
Sells and processes money orders and foreign currency sales.
Processes member payroll deductions, payroll transfers, name and address changes and other member related documents.
Balances daily teller work, able to settle the ATM machine and the coin machine at HSQ Branch.
Models excellent customer service behavior.
Performs other job related duties as required.
Must be willing to work in the very diverse environments of Harvard University, Longwood Medical Area, Charlestown Navy Yard and Massachusetts General Hospital.
This is an Overtime eligible position and part of the bargaining unit.

High School graduate.
Previous teller experience and knowledge of applicable financial institution procedures required.
Previous experience in a customer service environment required.
Must be willing to travel to all branch locations when business needs warrant and on short notice.
Applicable training or college course work preferred.
Must be detail oriented.
Excellent verbal, written communication and customer service skills required.
Must maintain an active Notary Public status.
