Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Support Specialist, for the Office of Human Research Services (OHRS) Department in the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
The primary purpose of the Program Support Specialist position is to provide overall administrative support for the Department of Statewide Research. The Program Support Specialist manages key projects and activities that are essential to the delivery of effective communication and education throughout the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health System as well as other multisite clinical trials.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Coordinates the activities of the statewide research office; this includes, but is not limited to working with all members of the Office of Statewide Research, the Education Department, and the partners and affiliates to schedule, coordinate and communicate information about clinical trial updates, educational meetings and events.
Develops and implements a timeline checklist in advance of all meetings and educational events to ensure complete preparation and execution of meeting/course operational requirements are accomplished in a timely manner.
Coordinates and maintains the Research Network Portal Website with collaboration of IST and Communications departments.
Works directly with the Associate Director of Statewide Clinical Research to create monthly newsletter. This includes, but is not limited to creating the design, layout and content of research updates and information. This work should be completed neatly and with a high degree of accuracy.
Coordinates logistics for Statewide Research Meetings and events. This includes contacting and confirming participants, creating agenda, confirming presenters, updating presentation documents, and room assembly/room breakdown.
Manages the Office of Statewide Research Listserv. Update contacts as necessary.
Assists with preparation and submission of grant applications as requested.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts, Public or Business Administration, the Social Sciences or a related field, plus two (2) years of professional level experience in a business office, government agency or university setting.
Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
PHYSICALDEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25lbs.
Valid driver's license and possesses own vehicle or alternative means of transportation from one site to another.
