The University of Cincinnati, College of Engineering and Applied Science invites applications for a postdoctoral position for the UC Simulation Center.
The UC Simulation Center is a UC Engineering and Procter & Gamble collaboration. The Center was established to support undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral students providing them with the opportunity to perform research activities with P&G technical staff. It is located in UC's 1819 Innovation Hub.
The Center is seeking a computational scientist to lead the development and application of mathematical models which are required to develop innovative new products and materials which interact with skin.
Projects typically involve modeling of transport phenomena, sorption, and partitioning of chemical species in skin. The individual must be able to work with a team to define the model requirements, develop the equations which govern a given phenomena, implement the equations, verify the model implementation, and validate the model.
Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in the mathematical modeling of transport phenomena, applied mathematics, and numerical methods is required. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of chemical engineering science, mathematical optimization and model validation techniques and experience with gPROMS.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. The individual must be able to effectively collaborate with Research and Development, management, and the academic community.
