As an employee who interacts with SCS customers every day, the Sr. Transportation Driver position is minimally supervised by the Warehouse Manager and Supervisor. The Transportation Driver oversees and ensures that world class customer service is extended to our customer's on a regional and local level. In addition, the Driver gives regular input related to improving efficiencies, customer service and best practices.
The Sr. Transportation Driver can expect to perform the following:
In providing critical customer service functions to the S&W system, the Sr. Driver will need to lead and perform a variety of delivery duties utilizing a motor vehicle, electric pallet jack, manual pallet jack and software called AT-PAR.
Each morning, the Driver ensures that the driving team is logistically on track with loading their trucks and timely deliveries throughout the region.
Ability to prioritize issues and tasks for the driving team while working independent of a supervisor to ensure proper distribution of STAT, non-STAT materials and equipment to North, South and Central regions within the health care system.
Prepare PO and Non-PO deliveries as well as equipment, special parcels, stat and non-stat supplies for outbound delivery to customers daily while providing related leadership and direction to the driving team.
Ensure product and equipment staged is correctly palletize for delivery to appropriate location in all three regions of the health care system.
Ensure supplies, equipment, and packages, to include refrigerated items are secured and boxed for delivery labels accompany product that require them and assist in picking, wrapping, and stacking product on pallets for delivery.
Oversee and lead the load and delivery of product supplies and equipment according to the daily delivery schedule;
Responsible for ensuring trucks are loaded in order of stops to facilitate a more efficient delivery schedule; Assigning drivers to a specific route and ensuring they are cross trained to make deliveries to all regions; Random QC of pallets daily to ensure accuracy in the pick plan and correct palletization by each driver;
Loads trucks safely, securing all items for travel and ensuring load meets all government regulations. Accurately delivers all supplies, product and equipment to specified locations within established timeframes.
Drives truck to different destinations and returns to the Distribution Center by applying knowledge of the seasonal highway conditions and commercial driving safety regulations. Ensures good customer relations by consistently delivering orders on time and acting in a courteous and professional manner.
Oversee and lead compliance with all department of transportation (dot) and company regulations, policies, and standards pertaining to fleet safety compliance.* Responsible for conducting weekly safety briefings to review speed limits, use of blinkers and mirrors as well as best practices for inclement weather driving.
Ensure driving team is performing routine maintenance of vehicles to maintain department efficiencies and continuously build best practice.
Lead assurance of appropriate documentation and manifests required to indicate proper shipment and receipt of product. Performs spot checks of driver team's documentation.
Develop employees and maximizes performance
The ideal candidate will have basic communication, computer and math skills; Ability to operate equipment including forklift, picker and pallet jacks.

Education - Associate's or Equivalent Experience
Experience -3 years; Two years of relevant experience substitutes for one year of degree
